Measuring and sizing
Measure the full width of the recess (wall to wall).
Measure from the top of the recess to where the window meets the window sill.
See our measuring guide for more detailed instructions and visuals.
You don’t need to choose a size band yourself.
Simply enter the width of your window on the product page, and we’ll automatically suggest the correct size band for you to add to your cart. Once on the cart page there is a section to add your exact window measurements.
Each Calm Panel is made to your measurements, and we review every order before making it to make sure everything looks right.
If you’re unsure at any point, you can always message us and we’ll be happy to help.
Every Calm Panel is made to your window measurements, and we want it to fit and work perfectly.
We offer a Perfect Fit Guarantee when you request and complete a quick measuring appointment with us after purchase, before your panel is made.
The appointment is completed via WhatsApp. If we’ve confirmed your measurements and your Calm Panel isn’t quite right for your window, we’ll remake it at no extra cost.

using the panel
The Panel is designed for babies, young infants and children. It can be hung up and taken down multiple times a day for naps, or put up at night time only.
How? The Calm Panel uses a two-part system: a fabric panel and a discreet strip that is fixed to your window frame.
The fabric panel attaches and removes easily to the window fitting, so it can be hung up just like drawing the curtains.
We recommend removing it once a day to ventilate the top of the window.
It’s designed to be simple and flexible.
We recommend leaving the adhesive strip in place for 12–24 hours before first use.
This allows the adhesive to properly bond to the surface.
Yes. The Panel itself is designed to be removed and reapplied multiple times a day to support nap times alongside night-time sleep.
The adhesive strip that attaches to your window is designed to stay in place. If you need to reposition or refresh it, it can be removed and replaced with a new strip.
We can provide additional hook strips if you plan to use it across multiple windows. Please note the Calm Panel is custom made for your window size, so will only work on windows a similar size or slightly smaller.
For the best possible finish, we recommend applying the strip to a clean surface.
We include a preparation wipe to make this step simple and to ensure everything works exactly as it should from the start.
Like all window coverings, regular ventilation and occasional cleaning of the window area will help maintain both the surface and the fixing over time.
The panel itself can be wiped down with a warm cloth. It is not suitable for machine washing.
Yes. The Calm Panel can be washed on a delicate cycle at 30°C using a gentle detergent.
We recommend washing it separately and avoiding heavier or darker items to help maintain the fabric’s finish. Air drying is recommended.
Compatibility
Yes. The Panel can sit either behind or in front of your existing blinds, depending on your setup.
We recommend contacting us with a photo of your current set-up and we'll ensure that it will work alongside your blinds.
Yes. The Calm Panel can be used with windows that have built-in vents or trickle vents.
If the panel is positioned around the vent, airflow remains unaffected.
If the panel sits in front of the vent, it may reduce airflow while in place.
In this case, we recommend taking the panel down and ventilating the room regularly, by opening the window during the day. This will help to maintain a healthy sleep environment.
Yes. The fabric is soft and flexible, allowing it to sit naturally around window handles without affecting use. Please note handles at checkout though.
You’ll need approximately 2cm of flat surface at the top of your window frame to attach the strip.
If you’re unsure, feel free to send us a photo. We’re happy to check.
This is intentional. The extra width allows the panel to be gently pressed into the sides of the frame, helping reduce light at the edges.
The Calm Panel is currently designed for use on smooth window surfaces such as PVC.
We are currently developing a version specifically for wooden frames, using fixings designed to be both effective and suitable on these frames.
If you have wooden windows, we’d love to hear from you. We’re offering early access to this version as it becomes available.

PRODUCT & MATERIALS
The Calm Panel is designed to complement your existing window coverings.
It focuses on reducing light at the edges, where most light enters with traditional blackout curtain or blinds. When used with your curtains or blinds you create overall coverage that is darker with a more consistent sleep environment.
No. The panel uses removable fixings designed and it does not require drilling.
It’s designed to be a gentle, non-permanent solution when used on a PVC surface.
The Calm Panel is made out of premium blackout fabric and significantly reduces light, particularly at the edges of your window.
In very bright conditions, a small amount of light may still pass through the fabric and stitching.
For best results, we recommend using The Calm Panel alongside your existing curtains or blinds.
